RABINOWITZ, Chief Justice. OPINION. On July 12, 1974, Roy Hammond was injured when he stepped off a D-8 Caterpillar he had loaded onto a lowboy trailer and fell through a hole in the trailer. At the time of the accident, he was employed by General-Alaska-Stewart, a contractor engaged in the construction of the Happy Valley Camp on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
